Interim pastor

Barry Creamer is the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Professor of Humanities at Criswell College. He is also the host of Live from Criswell, a Christian Worldview radio program heard on the Criswell Radio Network, including throughout the metroplex on 90.9 FM KCBI and 93.9 KCRN in San Angelo, TX.
  Michael Bridges

Michael feels so blessed to be able to be a part of Sunnyvale. He and Debra have three grown daughters, Rachel, Leah, Laura Beth, and three granddaughters, Korbyn, Kelsey and Brinley. He graduated from Dallas Baptist University and also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Music has always been his passion, and he loves the thrill of hearing our church family sing. Michael believes God has given us music so that we can express our deepest praise and gratitude to Him, and everyone can be a part of our worship here at Sunnyvale.

Scott became a member of Sunnyvale FBC in 2000. He spent 29 years in the corporate world, primarily in administrative management, before joining the Sunnyvale staff in 2011. He is overjoyed for the opportunity to serve this church. Scott has married to Melanie since 1989. They have a combined total of four children.
  dyrle phillips

Minister to Senior Adults & Pastoral Care

Dyrle Phillips came to know Christ when he was 15 years old at his pastor's home. He served faithfully as a deacon and lay leader throughout the years, but sensed that God was calling him into full-time ministry. He joined the SFBC staff as minister of Senior adults and Pastoral Care in 1995. He and his wife Bobbie have three grown children and ten grandchildren.

Jerry has been on the Sunnyvale staff since 2002. First as the Children's Associate, and now as our Children's and Family minister. Jerry and his wife Shannon have 5 children,Chase, Harley, Jenna, Jaelee, and Liam. Jerry's passion is to see every child (Champion) come to know Christ by entering into a lifelong relationship with Him.
  edwina sullivan

preschool minister & kingdom kids director

Edwina Sullivan joined Sunnyvale in April of 2005 as the Director of the Kingdom Kids Preschool ministry and became the Preschool Minister in October of 2007. She is married to Mark and has three children: Alyssa, Brianna, and Hunter. Edwina feels that providing a firm foundation in Christ to preschoolers is one of the most important responsibilities of her ministries.
  Jerrod McDaniel

College Associate & Visual Media

A product of Sunnyvale’s own youth group, Jerrod accepted the call to the ministry and has taken on many opportunities to serve over the years from Drama Instructor to Youth Pastor Interim. More recently, Jerrod has served as the Minister of Visual Media producing creative elements to help support the ministries of the church, and as the College Minister to help students and young adults find their purpose in Jesus Christ. He is married to his beautiful wife Krista who serves alongside him in the college ministry and in life.

  Rockey Smith

Director of Technical Services

Rockey was destined to be a technically-minded person. At the age of 3, his favorite toys were electrical cords and his father’s electric razor, which though improved, never quite worked again.  He was born and raised in Newport, Arkansas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a BA in Technical Theatre.  Rockey was saved at the age of 9 and answered the call to ministry as a teenager. Rockey serves as the Director of Technical Ministries.  Prior to that he was the Technical Services Manager at LifeWay Glorieta Conference Center and an ordained Deacon at Glorieta Baptist Church.  Rockey lived on the road for several years providing sound and lighting for many different events. Rockey is married to Tammie, and they have two children, Joshua and Jessica. He loves to play bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar and sing.

Jim Packwood’s ministry oversight includes mission trips, off-campus work in the areas of homeless shelters, prisons, retirement homes, Hispanic ministries. Jim is thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him here in the States and around the world. Jim and Karon Dawn have three children Deb, Julie, and Josh; and four wonderful grandchildren. Jim’s ministry vision involves reaching the entire world for our Lord Jesus Christ.
  DR. mike kempainen

Sunnyvale Institute

Dr. Mike Kempainen has been in pastoral ministry for nearly 40 years, and on Sunnyvale staff since 2002. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Trinity International University, and Dallas Theological Seminary. Mike is in charge of the Sunnyvale Institute and involved in our educational ministry. He has a wife, Chrysann, two grown daughters and four grandchildren.
