About the Machens
Singers, songwriters, and worship leaders! These are some words that define the music and ministry of Chris & Diane Machen. As Dove Award Finalists, Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductees, writers of Lillenas Publishing’s All-Time best selling anthem, Bow The Knee, and more than four decades in ministry, Chris & Diane have touched countless lives.
The Machens music catalog contains over 400 songs and have been published by Word Music, Brentwood-Benson, Lifeway, Lillenas, Hal Leonard and many others. They have recorded with Word, Urgent and Discovery House Records. Artists such as The Gatlin Brothers, The Imperials, Gold City Quartet, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and many others have recorded their songs. Chris & Diane continue to influence the world of Contemporary Christian Music.
The music of Chris & Diane, including songs like Bow The Knee, I Have Seen The Light, And God Cried and God Is Able, have been performed on Christian radio, and in worship services around the world. Their songs have even been featured in productions at Dollywood and Branson!
Chris & Diane’s ministry has taken them around the world singing and sharing the gospel in Germany, Spain, Romania, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Korea and Mongolia!
Now their ministry is reaching into the theater world via the new bluegrass musical Hope In The Heartland. Based on Chris’ family during the Great Depression, the musical has 22 original songs and a story intended to reach people with the gospel who might not ever attend a church service.
