Shall We Gather at the River?

The story of Naaman, a powerful Syrian commander, reveals how God uses unlikely people for His purposes. Despite his military success, Naaman suffered from leprosy until a young Jewish slave girl pointed him toward the prophet Elisha. When Elisha instructed him to wash seven times in the Jordan River, Naaman's pride initially prevented his healing. Only through complete obedience and humility did he receive both physical healing and spiritual transformation. This account teaches us that partial obedience is disobedience and that recognizing before whom we stand changes everything about how we live.
