Telling Jesus How to Be Religious
In Mark 2, religious leaders criticized Jesus for not fasting like they did, missing the profound truth that He was the long-awaited Messiah. Jesus responded with analogies about patches and wineskins, showing that His new covenant couldn't simply be added to old religious systems. Many people today make the same mistake, trying to add Jesus to their existing life rather than allowing Him to give them a completely new one. The gospel isn't about becoming more religious or patching up your old life, it's about receiving total transformation through Christ.
